A Celebration of Sisterhood and Women’s Leadership

Feminin Pluriel Luxembourg proudly attended the International Congress in Athens, a remarkable gathering hosted by the new Feminin Pluriel branch in Greece to celebrate the launch of the Athens Chapter. The theme of the conference, “Women Heroes,” provided a platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences regarding the empowerment of women. Over 60 women and the Presidents of the international chapters as well as more than 150 Greek women, participated in the event.

The official opening of the newly established Greek chapter commenced with a reception at the French Embassy, hosted by Her Excellency **Laurence Auer, the Ambassador of France. The event was accompanied by the performance of world-renowned Greek soprano **Anastasia Zanni.

On Friday, attendees joined the “Women Heroes” conference, celebrating resilience, solidarity, and leadership among 200 influential women from around the globe. Keynote speeches included “Women in the Labor Market: Bridging the Gap,” presented by **Niki Kerameos, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs; “The Unknown Struggle for the Preservation of the Greek Language,” by **Eugenia Manolidou, Musician and Director of Studies at the Greek Education School “Greek Agogi”; **Katharina Arnold, Advisor to the British Embassy in Athens; “Women at the Forefront of the Battle Against Climate Change,” by **Dr. Dionysia-Theodora Avgerinopoulou*, MP of New Democracy, Chair of the Environment Committee, Special Envoy of the Prime Minister for Oceans; “The Importance of Awareness in the Preservation of Fertility” by various experts. There was a brief presentation by **Sandra Zafeirakopoulou, General Director of Make-a-Wish Greece.
The Congress was a powerful platform for sharing stories, exchanging ideas, and celebrating the profound impact of women in society. The gathering celebrated the power of women to create change and champion a brighter, more united future. A highlight of the Congress was a charity event supporting “To Ergastiri,” an association for parents of children with disabilities.
