2025 will be decidedly blue. This new year, announced by France as the Year of the Sea, which will host the third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC) in Nice in June, invites us to unite around global ambitions that match the challenges facing our beautiful region—especially the Mediterranean.
Thank you for your commitment alongside Tara Ocean by supporting Le Bal des Rêves, our flagship event of the year, scheduled for Thursday, June 5. On that date, the famous schooner TARA will be on site, and we will organize guided visits for registered participants beforehand.
Le Bal des Rêves supports the cause of ocean protection and the Tara Ocean Foundation.
On May 24th, Féminin Pluriel Montpellier Méditerranée had the pleasure of organizing a charity fashion sale to support the AGNES MCLAREN ASSOCIATION.
It was a warm and joyful moment, celebrating community, elegance, and solidarity. 💞
Thanks to the generosity of our members and supporters, all proceeds will be donated to the Agnes McLaren Medical Prize. This prize rewards a medical thesis focused on the health of women and/or children in vulnerable or precarious situations, and funds a project based on that research.
📅 The award ceremony will take place on September 12th in the afternoon at the Faculty of Medicine in Montpellier and will be preceded by a conference.
Who was Agnes McLaren? 🔎 In 1878, Agnes McLaren became the first woman to graduate as a doctor from the Faculty of Medicine in Montpellier. A Scottish physician and suffragist, she fought for women’s rights and founded the Sainte-Catherine Hospital for women and children in India. Between culture, sports, and health, our association is asserting its active and committed presence in Montpellier’s community more than ever:
On the cultural side We had the great pleasure and privilege of visiting the Opéra and National Orchestra of Montpellier, guided by Vincent Bobé, who revealed the hidden gems of this iconic venue of the local artistic scene. An inspiring immersion into the lyrical and cultural heritage of our city.
On the sports side With the opera welcoming sport, we had the opportunity to celebrate the 14th French Cup victory of Montpellier Handball. A powerful moment shared with Mayor Michaël Delafosse, the players, and the entire team—a symbol of unity and collective success!
On the health side This Sunday, May 25, we will be supporting the association La Montpellier Reine a du Coeur with our Féminin Pluriel Montpellier Méditerranée team, Taking part in a solidarity race against breast cancer. Running for a good cause means honoring affected women and supporting research with determination.
On the fashion side Elegance, hidden treasures, and great finds await you at our second Mother’s Day special charity clothing sale this Saturday, May 24 from 2 PM to 7 PM at 4 Rue Placentin, Montpellier. A friendly and sociable afternoon to exchange and network together.
This productive week reflects our deep commitment to a more united, vibrant, and inspired society.
