We are pleased to receive Christel Rendu de Lint, co-CEO of Vontobel, for a conversation that should make us look at finance — and perhaps our own decisions — from a different angle.
Her career path is impressive, but she prefers to talk about what she has learned rather than her titles.
After a PhD in Economics at London Business School, she worked at Morgan Stanley in London, the IMF and the British Treasury. She then spent fourteen years at UBP, where she created from scratch a global activity dedicated to fixed income securities, developed up to 20 billion Swiss francs on four continents.
Today, she is in charge of the Vontobel bank as co-CEO. In addition to Vontobel, she serves on the board of directors of the Asset Management Association Switzerland, as well as on the board of directors of the Swiss Finance Council. These two bodies are deeply close to his heart: for the development of an essential sector of our economy, and for the defense of our reputation towards abroad.
But what we are particularly interested in is what is behind this course.
A certain idea of finance: demanding, lucid and deeply attached to the interest of the client. A belief that intellectual honesty is not a luxury when we talk about markets, and that the decisions made today must also be measured by their consequences tomorrow.
She will also come to talk to us about a subject that is particularly close to her heart: financial education. And she talks about it with a very personal experience: at the beginning of her career, she herself made costly mistakes that no one had taught her to avoid.
What do we really know about our money?
What decisions do we make knowingly — and what do we make because we don’t know what questions to ask?
An encounter with a brilliant, discreet and committed woman, who knows finance from the inside and who has a lot to make us think about our own choices.
We look forward to seeing you for this conversation.
