An Evening with Margaux Cassan – Ultra Violet
Join us for an exceptional evening with Margaux Cassan, philosopher and writer, as she presents her latest book, Ultra Violet (Grasset Publishing).
In this hybrid work, Margaux Cassan explores the phenomenon of tanning from a fresh and unconventional perspective, weaving together personal narrative, philosophical reflection, and sociological investigation. She examines tanning as a “total social fact,” while also considering the cultural, historical, and health-related consequences of excessive sun exposure. The author further reflects on how this obsession with physical transformation has shaped multiple generations—particularly through the experience of her own mother.
